My Highlights of 2014

I’ve been fortunate enough to have another great year with my photography, so here are 5 of my favourite moments:

1 - Warped Tour USA

When I began my photography career, I always said the ultimate goal was to get to America and shoot Warped Tour. It seemed unobtainable and I honestly never thought it would actually happen. A huge thank you to We Are The In Crowd for inviting me out there with them! The whole experience was an absolute dream and I don’t know how anything is ever going to top it.

2 - A Love Like War: UK Tour

There are many reasons why I enjoyed this tour so much. Firstly, thank you to Only Rivals for kindly bringing me along and putting up with me. They are one of the most hilarious bands I’ve ever had the pleasure of touring with and I really enjoyed spending St. Patrick’s Day in Dublin with them! All Time Low were great to be on the road with too - they were incredibly welcoming and friendly to us all. Their light show was unreal and shooting in those conditions every night was too much fun!

On this tour I also had the company of two other excellent photographers, Adam Elmakias and Sammy Roenfeldt. I’ve been following their work for a while so it was great to hang out and shoot alongside them both.

3 - My first wedding shoot

I’ve been thinking about taking up wedding photography for a while now, so when my friend Andy asked me to shoot his, I jumped at the chance! Thankfully the whole event was very relaxed and made my job relatively easy. Despite raining the entire week before the wedding, the sun shone for the outside group photos so all was well! I currently have a few more weddings booked for 2015 - if they go as well as this one, I’ll be more than happy!

4 - Travelling around Europe with Lonely The Brave

Lonely The Brave have had an incredible year with the release of their new album, and I’ve been fortunate enough to document their travels around Europe, including countless festivals, TV shows, radio interviews and even a BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge performance! From Glastonbury to Pukkelpop, I enjoyed every show I spent shooting these guys. I even spent my Birthday on tour with them! They are heading for big things and I wish them the best of luck, they certainly deserve it.

5 - Alternative Press Music Awards

While out in America during a Warped Tour day off, we travelled to Cleveland for the APMAs. I had no intention of shooting that day, but I felt awkward just sitting down watching events unfold, so I picked up my camera and wandered into the photopit. I’m rather glad I did because there were some very interesting collaborations including New Found Glory, Yellowcard and All Time Low performing a medley of their hits and Ronnie Radke performing ‘Gangsta’s Paradise’ with Coolio!

I hope you all have a healthy and prosperous 2015. Let’s make it a good one!

Happy New Year!
